Why Your Desire For Attention May Be Ruining Your Life

You Forget To Listen

People who crave for attention are very vocal about their opinions. They can elaborate on what they are thinking all throughout the conversation. I don’t see any problem with that especially if
you make a good point. What makes it wrong is when you forget that other people have opinions too. Sometimes in your efforts to make others listen and understand you, you do not realize that you have forgotten to listen yourself. You do not only deprive others of a chance to speak and be heard, you also deprive yourself the chance to learn from others.

Boring Company

As a result of not listening, people who try to get too much attention and be such a bore. Put yourself in the shoes of those listening to you. You may be surprised that you may bore yourself too. A Conversation is a two-way traffic. The people should take turns in speaking and listening. If you find yourself speaking more than the others, and some just start walking away without you knowing it, then you may just have a problem.

It Can Be Annoying

Some people who try to attract attention for themselves can do some crazy things. There are those who become too melodramatic. Some people could dress too much to impress. Some can be very loud and obnoxious. We all know one or two people who are just like that, and I guess we all agreed that they are so annoying. If you find some people rolling their eyes as you enter the room and not looking so happy to see you, you might just be that odd one in the crowd.

Envy And Jealousy

Most People who like attention are often envious and jealous people. They are often self-centered and attention wanders elsewhere feelings of envy or jealousy can take over. Whether you do something about it or not, these feelings can be consuming inside. They fill you with negativity and make you lose focus. All you may ever think of is how to get attention back towards you.

Hurt when Ignored

In your efforts to get the attention of the people around you, you may not always be successful. In the process, you feel alone, neglected and ignored. You should be able to function without other people. You do not need the approval of anyone to be able to succeed. As long as you know that what you are doing is right, and you are just being yourself, you do not need anyone else to tell you otherwise.

Practice Communication in your Marriage

Most couples believe they need better communication skills and that would change their relationship for the better. They claim that they either argue because of misunderstandings or that one or the other don’t discuss their problems openly. Communication (or lack of it) is often NOT the problem Most couples have re-hashed issues over and over and they know what their partner’s position is. The issue is often that they do not accept the partner’s position and are “trying” to get them to change to see their side. And we know how that usually goes; right? It does not happen. So often communication problems will boil down to “they are not listening to me or they would change their behavior”; or “they don’t care enough about me to change”. Neither of these thought processes are helpful to building and sustaining a fabulous relationship. Breakdowns in communication are often the way in which each partner successfully maintains a balance of power. Power and control issues usually ex...

Ways in which a Perception Of Someone can Be Defined By How Other People Describe Them

There are times when one will meet someone without knowing anything about them and then there are other times when this won’t be the case. In this instance, one will have heard about the other before person they have even met them. When this happens, one can feel as though they already know the other person, and even though they haven’t met them, they may feel the need to behave in a certain way. And the way in which they behave can all depend on how the other person describes them. First Impression This can mean that their first impression of the other person won’t be formed through being in their presence; it will be formed through listening to what other people say. It then might not matter how accurate their descriptions are, as one can believe they are finding out what someone is like. However, if one hears what other people have to say and then decides to come to their own conclusion, they might be able see for themselves. But, this doesn’t mean they won’t...
