The One Thing You Are Not Doing That Will Completely Boost Your Focus

This generation may be the most unfocused people in history. People juggle jobs one after the other. They spend their recreation time in malls and noisy places. Even during idle times there are the gadgets and other technology that keep their minds preoccupied. I myself find it hard to focus on one thought. I get out of the room to get something and find myself wondering what it was I was looking for. Even w
hen I try to pray, I am distracted by the many thoughts and even voices in my head. Many of us experience this and wonder what we should do to gain back our focus.
Our modern world is polluted by noise. Modern people today actually get uncomfortable when things get quiet. But the truth is the one thing that we need to gain back our focus is silence. We have to learn to turn off the voices in our heads. We have to break away from my daily noisy environment, to be able to think straight.

Talk To Yourself

To be able to get answers for your questions, we should re-learn how to listen. And the first person we should learn to listen to is ourselves. Most people would think that talking to yourself is crazy. But recent studies show that people who actually talk to themselves in their heads tend to excel more later on in life. So take time alone to talk to yourself. You may even be surprised of the things you learn and realize about yourself.

Unplug

To be able to have that conversation with yourself, you have to do without the usual things that distract you. Lock yourself up in your office during your break. Leave your cell phone at home, or simply turn it off for a few minutes or so. Take time off from the computer and try writing down your thoughts instead. Unplugging all electronic devices will allow your mind to adjust to a more natural setting.

Retreat

If some time alone at your home or workplace does not work for you, it may be time for a change of environment. Retreat to a quiet getaway where you can be alone and get in touch with your inner voice. It may be as simple as a stroll at a museum or church. You may choose to go on a long trip to get in touch with nature or the sea. Wherever you go, make sure there is peace and tranquility to be able to do what you went there for.

Turn Off The Voices

Once you have found the quiet retreat you so badly need, it’s time to try and unclutter your thoughts

ListenWhat do you really want to achieve? Where do you want to go? What are the things you can do to make that positive change? Once you have realized all these, you will easily be able to determine your goals. Knowing what you are working for provides a sense of purpose and gives you great focus.

Practice Communication in your Marriage

Most couples believe they need better communication skills and that would change their relationship for the better. They claim that they either argue because of misunderstandings or that one or the other don’t discuss their problems openly. Communication (or lack of it) is often NOT the problem Most couples have re-hashed issues over and over and they know what their partner’s position is. The issue is often that they do not accept the partner’s position and are “trying” to get them to change to see their side. And we know how that usually goes; right? It does not happen. So often communication problems will boil down to “they are not listening to me or they would change their behavior”; or “they don’t care enough about me to change”. Neither of these thought processes are helpful to building and sustaining a fabulous relationship. Breakdowns in communication are often the way in which each partner successfully maintains a balance of power. Power and control issues usually ex...

Ways in which a Perception Of Someone can Be Defined By How Other People Describe Them

There are times when one will meet someone without knowing anything about them and then there are other times when this won’t be the case. In this instance, one will have heard about the other before person they have even met them. When this happens, one can feel as though they already know the other person, and even though they haven’t met them, they may feel the need to behave in a certain way. And the way in which they behave can all depend on how the other person describes them. First Impression This can mean that their first impression of the other person won’t be formed through being in their presence; it will be formed through listening to what other people say. It then might not matter how accurate their descriptions are, as one can believe they are finding out what someone is like. However, if one hears what other people have to say and then decides to come to their own conclusion, they might be able see for themselves. But, this doesn’t mean they won’t...
