Simple Self-Esteem Boost That Improves Emotional Strength

We all have something we are insecure about. No matter how confident you think you may be, deep inside you still have that fear that you may not be able to live up to what other people expect of you. Especially when the people you are with are the kind who bring you down, you will need to work hard
er to boost your self-esteem and improve your emotional strength to be able to succeed in life.

Make A List

A simple self-esteem boost you can do is to make a list of your good qualities. Write down your strengths and your exceptional capabilities that make you feel good about yourself. Keep this list with you at all times. And whenever someone or something makes you feel insecure or feel unsure of yourself, look at this list and remember why you should believe in yourself.

Remind Yourself

This list will be your feel-good list and will serve as your simple boost when you need it the most. Remind yourself of who you are and what you can do in spite what others say about you or how others make you feel about yourself. It doesn’t matter what they think. What matters is what you think about yourself and how you feel about it.

Make it Your Mantra

When you are feeling really down and stressed out, make your feel-good list your mantra. Read it out loud to yourself over and over until it sinks in that you have to believe in what you can do and that no one can make you feel bad without your consent.

What Matters Most?

As you go through the items on your list and begin to remember the things that really matter, start looking back at the things that made you feel inadequate. You will see that the things that were bringing you down before were not really worth the worry, anxiety or fear. They were just nuisances that hindered you from going for the things that matter the most.

Focus on Your Goal

Remember that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. There will always be someone out there who would love to burst your bubble or try to sway you to do something else which they think is better than what you are aiming for. You cannot please everybody, right? Well, you do not have to please everybody anyway. You are doing what you do for your own success.
Having your feel-good list will remind you of your goal. You, of all people, would know the best way to achieve your dreams. Although people will always have a say about what you do, they are all just suggestions. It is your choice whether you will accept them or not. It is okay to listen to them, but you should be smart enough to decipher which suggestions are worth following and which ones are mere distractions from what you should really be doing.
Your self-esteem and emotional strength relies solely on your manner of thinking and how you see things around you. Keeping a positive disposition with the help of your feel-good list is a simple but effective way of boosting your confidence in yourself.

Practice Communication in your Marriage

Most couples believe they need better communication skills and that would change their relationship for the better. They claim that they either argue because of misunderstandings or that one or the other don’t discuss their problems openly. Communication (or lack of it) is often NOT the problem Most couples have re-hashed issues over and over and they know what their partner’s position is. The issue is often that they do not accept the partner’s position and are “trying” to get them to change to see their side. And we know how that usually goes; right? It does not happen. So often communication problems will boil down to “they are not listening to me or they would change their behavior”; or “they don’t care enough about me to change”. Neither of these thought processes are helpful to building and sustaining a fabulous relationship. Breakdowns in communication are often the way in which each partner successfully maintains a balance of power. Power and control issues usually ex...

Ways in which a Perception Of Someone can Be Defined By How Other People Describe Them

There are times when one will meet someone without knowing anything about them and then there are other times when this won’t be the case. In this instance, one will have heard about the other before person they have even met them. When this happens, one can feel as though they already know the other person, and even though they haven’t met them, they may feel the need to behave in a certain way. And the way in which they behave can all depend on how the other person describes them. First Impression This can mean that their first impression of the other person won’t be formed through being in their presence; it will be formed through listening to what other people say.
