How To Make A Presentation And Win Your Audience

Everybody is scared of being tagged for public speaking; however, one can become an excellent communicator by learning how to make a presentation. Remember that great speakers were once poor speakers themselves, but through practice and perseverance, they become a better version of themselves.
Art of Speaking
To become a better presenter, the first thing that one needs to develop is their communication skills. Communication entails, not only speaking, but also listening. By listening to what the other person is saying; one would be able to develop a response while using other communication skills such as negotiating and engaging the other person. To make your speech a success, it must engage the other person's attention and evoke a response from them.
Preparing Your Piece
To deliver your speech or presentation successfully, you must adapt your piece to the audience type that you will be delivering it. Are your listener's composed of colleagues or respected individu
als from your field of work? Then, using technical jargons or industry specific terms is okay since they are widely accepted and are understood by your listeners. If you are about to deliver it to the public or people outside your industry, then using layman's term would make your speech much easier to understand.
Silence is Your Friend
It is okay to be silent, especially if you want to make your next points relevant. An excellent speaker makes use of silence to build up anticipation and engage their audience's attention as the latter knows that something big is coming up. Do not fill in gaps or silent moments with awkward jokes or nonsensical things as this will only shows the audience that you are not comfortable and make them uncomfortable as well.
Dress Up and Smile
Your appearance is important especially if you are presenting in a huge crowd. Dress smartly to build your confidence up. Also, remember to start your presentation by smiling and saying hello to your listeners. By smiling, you will come across as approachable and friendly. By developing rapport before the actual presentation, you are engaging your audience ahead of time which would help them feel comfortable to respond once the actual presentation starts.
Don't Magnify
Many times, speakers tend to feel embarrassed when they made mistakes and feel that it is more noticeable than it probably is. If you made a mistake, acknowledge it briefly and then continue with your presentation. Apologizing often would lead to your listeners focusing more on your mistakes than they would under normal circumstances.

Practice Communication in your Marriage

They claim that they either argue because of misunderstandings or that one or the other don’t discuss their problems openly. Communication (or lack of it) is often NOT the problem Most couples have re-hashed issues over and over and they know what their partner’s position is. The issue is often that they do not accept the partner’s position and are “trying” to get them to change to see their side. And we know how that usually goes; right? It does not happen. So often communication problems will boil down to “they are not listening to me or they would change their behavior”; or “they don’t care enough about me to change”. Neither of these thought processes are helpful to building and sustaining a fabulous relationship. Breakdowns in communication are often the way in which each partner successfully maintains a balance of power. Power and control issues usually ex...

In this instance, one will have heard about the other before person they have even met them. When this happens, one can feel as though they already know the other person, and even though they haven’t met them, they may feel the need to behave in a certain way.
