Enjoy the ride! - The journey is as important as the destination

Often people ask me - Joey, I have this dream of being... But I have no idea how to get there or accomplish this, from my point current of view, my dream seems impossible. Shall I just give up now?

My answer to that is NEVER! And I will never change my stance on this, no matter how
implausible their dream may be. It is natural for us to assume that we cannot do it, after all if we had done it before we would be there already, wouldn't we? This is a new endeavour, a completely unfamiliar undertaking; you are now heading into unexplored territory! And so you must have faith. Martin Luther King said...

Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.

Jack Canfield Author of chicken soup for the soul described his understanding of this principle in his appearance on the Secret DVD...

"A car driving through the night, the headlights only reach 100 - 200 feet in front of the car. But you could make it all the way from California to New York whilst driving in the dark, because all you have to see is the next 200 feet. And that's how life tends to unfold before us. If we just trust, the next 200 feet will unfold, and the next 200 feet after that and so on. Your life will keep unfolding and it will eventually get you to the destination of whatever it is that you truly want".

The important thing is not necessarily that you know how you will reach your goal, but more so the definite decision that you will reach your goal. Take the first step, and then the next step will come into your view.

Tragically most dreams remain exactly that, just a dream. If you want it to be your reality, you must make a definite decision to pursue your dream. The fact you have these thought impulses entering your mind, is evidence to the fact you must have some small desire for them. But if doubt and unbelief are allowed to erode at your precious dreams, they will quickly kill them off; until you have instead made a definite decision that your dreams will never be achieved or obtained. That is the way of the world, they will tell you that you can't, that it is not possible. A short study of every successful person will reveal to you that they were told they can't. But after ignoring the naysayers, and accomplishing the so-called "impossible", their sceptics were force fed humble pie and they sealed their place in history.
Michael Jordan was put on the B-team, when playing college basketball. Soon to be known as the greatest player, the sport has ever seen. He did not allow the doubts of others, to spoil his faith and belief in his own ability.
Copernicus was branded a heretic for saying the earth orbited the sun, and Columbus ridiculed for saying the earth was round. A person with real vision, when others are blind, can indeed change the course of world history. And so can YOU.

Take action now. The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step! Napoleon Hill said... "Most of us go through life as failures because we waiting for the 'time to be right'. Do not wait. The time will never be 'just right'. Start where you stand, work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.

So get going! Just have a vision of what it is, you really want. With that in place take the first steps, and watch your life and dreams unfold before you.

Practice Communication in your Marriage

Most couples believe they need better communication skills and that would change their relationship for the better. They claim that they either argue because of misunderstandings or that one or the other don’t discuss their problems openly. Communication (or lack of it) is often NOT the problem Most couples have re-hashed issues over and over and they know what their partner’s position is. The issue is often that they do not accept the partner’s position and are “trying” to get them to change to see their side. And we know how that usually goes; right? It does not happen. So often communication problems will boil down to “they are not listening to me or they would change their behavior”; or “they don’t care enough about me to change”. Neither of these thought processes are helpful to building and sustaining a fabulous relationship. Breakdowns in communication are often the way in which each partner successfully maintains a balance of power. Power and control issues usually ex...

Ways in which a Perception Of Someone can Be Defined By How Other People Describe Them

There are times when one will meet someone without knowing anything about them and then there are other times when this won’t be the case. In this instance, one will have heard about the other before person they have even met them. When this happens, one can feel as though they already know the other person, and even though they haven’t met them, they may feel the need to behave in a certain way. And the way in which they behave can all depend on how the other person describes them. First Impression This can mean that their first impression of the other person won’t be formed through being in their presence; it will be formed through listening to what other people say. It then might not matter how accurate their descriptions are, as one can believe they are finding out what someone is like. However, if one hears what other people have to say and then decides to come to their own conclusion, they might be able see for themselves. But, this doesn’t mean they won’t...
